The Branch is managed by the Provincial Director.
Staff members include a manager, an assistant administrator,
social work manager, a social worker, and two social
auxiliary workers, a driver, care attendants, cleaners,
a workshop supervisor, a gardener, house mother
and a part-time nurse.

Social Work Services including:
• Applications for residential facility
• counselling of people with disabilities
and their families to cope with their disability
and related challenges such as schooling, employment,
and stigma challenges
• support groups for people with disabilities
or caregivers to share their common experience and
learn coping skills;
• awareness programmes in the form of talks,
workshops and training to empower people with disabilities
and those who work with them
• application for wheelchairs free of charge
via KZN Wheelchairs
• protective employment workshop catering
for 50 adults who are taught various skills with
the aim of becoming financially independent, the
protect workshop has obtained contracts from 5 major
companies in the PMB area
• Loan of assistive devices/wheelchairs
• Annual Sports Day
The John Odams Centre in Pietermaritzburg
is a residential facility for 20 physically challenged
adults. The residents are offered comfortable accommodation,
nutritious meals, transport to our protective employment
workshop, clinics and hospitals. Residents are encouraged
to pursue their interests and hobbies, independent
work opportunities and to further their education.
The residents are also offered social work services
and nursing care from a part time nursing sister.
